Some people may predict the end of the world in 2012, but the world of car manufacturing continues to be strong and 2012 is set to be a bumper year for new car releases. If your car is teetering on the edge then it is probably even worth utilising a mobile mechanic and holding out for some of the offerings later this year. Whether you are looking to buy a new car for the family or hire a car in Sydney for some Aussie touring, there is little doubt that it is worth trying some of these vehicles on for size:
Ford Focus ST
The latest Ford Focus is a great adaptation on the existing vehicle. With a 2.0 litre engine and an impressive 160bhp, there is little doubt that this family car will be able to fly along the roads. The car is set to have a six speed gearbox and some stiffer suspension than the older models. This car is perfect for blending fun with family safety.
Mitsubishi Evo XI
The Evo XI spells the end of Mitsubishi’s gas guzzlers. The company is opting for a far more eco-friendly range of hybrid electric and gas-electric vehicles that are the next step in reducing emissions and developing motoring. This is the first realistically high performing hybrid and it is definitely a good way to show your commitment to the environment in style!
Toyota Prius C
The Toyota Prius C may remain a concept but it is a sign of great things to come. It is a sporty hybrid that is designed to be great fun at a price of less than $20k. This hybrid should be unveiled with a high level millage and no need to plug-in. Fingers crossed that it comes in 2012.
Volkswagen Golf R
The Golf is a timeless classic that just got better. With the AWD model being kitted out with a six speed gearbox and a 280bhp engine there is little doubt that this car will be a great improvement. For around $30k this car is well worth the investment.
Chevy Camaro ZL1
‘Supercharged V8 engine’ is about all that needs to be said about this beast. With a top speed of around 180mph and an impressive 580bhp this car is obviously going to be a blast to drive. Chevy has a history of making wonderful cars and this seems to be next in a long line of remarkable vehicles.
Mini Paceman
The Mini Paceman is set to be a two-door version of the Countryman and could potentially be a wonder to drive. Mini has a record of producing excellent, efficient and compact cars and this looks set to carry the trend on. This is definitely worth considering as an alternative to larger cars.
Dodge Dart
Dodge has made a compact Sedan called the Dart which is set to take on the small car frontrunners like Ford and Toyota. Combining Alfa Romeo body with Dodge engine and manufacture seems like a great way to enter the market and this is an exciting new alternative to test drive.
Ford Fiesta ST
The Fiesta ST will basically benefit from an altered outer body and a better cooling system. It may only be available as a three door but it will certainly have better performance than the older Fiestas. This is a good and cheap offering from Ford.
